Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Process Engineer (Reformers) at QatarEnergy, you will:
- Monitor and optimize Reformers unit performance in terms of energy conservation, catalyst life, yield, and chemical usage.
- Approve and review technical specifications prepared by Senior Engineers for procurement of catalysts and chemicals.
- Identify plant bottlenecks and lead feasibility studies for debottlenecking and capacity upgrades.
- Drive initiatives to improve energy efficiency, product yield, and refinery economics.
- Utilize process simulation tools and refinery information systems to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with international standards and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and provide effective presentations to stakeholders.
- Support Operational Excellence (OE) and Continuous Improvement (CI) programs.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of hands-on refinery experience in process or operations roles.
- Proficiency in process simulation tools and refinery IT systems including RIS, PHD, SAP, and automation software.
- Strong command of Microsoft Project, Excel, and presentation software.
- Excellent knowledge of refinery economics, IMS requirements, and international standards.
- Strong technical writing, reporting, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead process improvement and efficiency projects independently.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Educational Qualifications
- BSc in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Processing Engineering (required).
