Responsibilities

  • Lead & Mentor: Guide a team of mechanical engineers through tendering and detailed engineering phases.
  • Design Oversight: Drive mechanical design development for water, effluent, and sewage treatment systems.
  • Project Execution: Oversee planning, resource allocation, and delivery of mechanical engineering outputs.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Integrate mechanical systems seamlessly with civil, electrical, and process engineering.
  • Deliverable Quality: Review and validate all mechanical design submissions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Innovation & Productivity: Foster continuous improvement in team skills, workflows, and engineering standards.
  • Piping & Hydraulic Modeling: Lead piping design and conduct hydraulic modeling, surge, and CFD analysis.
  • Rotating Equipment Focus: Design and evaluate rotating machinery essential to treatment plant operations.
  • Vendor & Client Engagement: Interface with international vendors and consultants for approvals, submissions, and procurement support.

Skills & Expertise

  • Advanced mechanical engineering principles in water & effluent treatment contexts.
  • Proficient in WaterGEMS, WaterHammer, SAP, CAESAR II, and CFD tools.
  • Skilled in pipeline layout, GA drawings, stress analysis, and vendor engineering.
  • Strong familiarity with industry standards: ASME, BS EN, ISO, QCS, NWC, etc.
  • Experience in HAZOP workshops, technical evaluations, and client-facing technical discussions.
  • Clear communicator with robust leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Innovative mindset focused on design optimization and improved engineering efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, with M.Tech preferred.
  • Experience: 15–20 years in mechanical engineering roles, including at least 3–5 years in leadership capacity.
  • Exposure to water/effluent treatment or Oil & Gas sectors, especially in Middle East and Africa, is highly desirable.
