Summary

Responsibilities

  • Instrumentation System Support: Provide troubleshooting and reliability improvements for upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities.
  • Surveillance & Data Analysis: Develop and execute instrument surveillance programs; analyze maintenance and process data to identify failure modes, availability, reliability, and program effectiveness.
  • Design & Engineering Compliance: Ensure design compliance with codes, standards, and company policies; review and approve EPC contractor work.
  • Maintenance & Reliability Planning: Develop equipment strategies, maintenance plans, and life cycle management for control systems, safety instrumented systems (SIS), and PLCs.
  • Functional Safety & Cybersecurity: Support SIL assessment, functional safety studies, and cybersecurity compliance for control systems.
  • Documentation & Standards: Maintain technical documentation, P&IDs, control narratives, and standard procedures; participate in development and updates of global I&C standards.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior engineers on technical design, calculations, software, and bid evaluations.
  • Project Support: Participate in HAZOP studies, FATs, commissioning, turnaround support, and management of change (MoC) activities.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation and Controls, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in I&C engineering for oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical projects or operations.
  • Experience with pressure, temperature, flow, level instruments, control valves, and shutdown valves.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, country-specific regulations, functional safety (SIL), and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Valid work permit to work in India.

Preferred:

  • Experience with field hardware specification, safety instrument systems, PLCs, control system programming, and system lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation for complex systems, such as machinery control, vibration monitoring, custody transfer metering, and tank gauging.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (SAP, Excel, Tableau, Analytics).
  • Certification in Functional Safety and Cybersecurity from recognized institutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
