Summary
Chevron is hiring an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Facility Engineer – LNG in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will provide critical instrumentation, controls, and electrical engineering support for Chevron’s complex process facilities, including refineries and LNG assets. The position focuses on troubleshooting, design, and analysis of I&E systems, contributing to safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities
- Provide instrumentation, controls, and electrical engineering support for Chevron’s process facilities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams to troubleshoot and analyze I&E systems.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for instrumentation and electrical design packages.
- Apply Chevron and industry engineering standards and safety practices in all designs.
- Design, troubleshoot, and implement distributed control systems (DCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS), PLCs, field instruments, analyzers, and electrical systems.
- Deliver remote technical support to scope repairs, troubleshoot plant issues, and implement solutions during turnarounds and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance, recommendations, and system analysis to improve I&E engineering tools and workflows.
- Support small capital projects, including engineering analysis, consultation, and project management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a recognized (AICTE-approved) university.
- Minimum 3 years of site-based I&E experience in a brownfield refinery, LNG, or petrochemical facility.
- Proven experience in supporting operations, troubleshooting, and I&E system design.
- Knowledge of process control systems, field instruments, and electrical distribution systems.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with process automation, PLCs, DCS, and HART-enabled instrumentation.
- Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and process safety protocols.
- Hands-on understanding of installation, commissioning, and maintenance of field instruments.
- Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives in I&E engineering practices.
