Responsibilities

As a Geoscientist at ExxonMobil Bengaluru, you will:

  • Conduct subsurface mapping, seismic interpretation, stratigraphy, and structural analysis.
  • Integrate multidisciplinary data (formation evaluation, production, drilling, completions) for development planning.
  • Assess reservoir uncertainties, productivity parameters, and recovery potential.
  • Generate and evaluate well proposals, identify new exploration opportunities, and leverage competitor/industry data.
  • Plan and support horizontal and vertical drilling operations, including geologic target definition and drilling hazard assessment.
  • Geo-steer horizontal wells and ensure optimal placement within geologic targets.
  • Analyze company and competitor well performance data to enhance field development and profitability.
  • Manage high workloads by steering multiple wells while simultaneously planning future operations.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Earth Science, Geology, Geophysics (or related fields) with GPA ≥ 7.0 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in development and production geology.
  • Proficiency in geological software such as Petrel, Kingdom, or Petra.
  • Strong computational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse global teams (in-person and virtual).
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated leadership, adaptability, and teamwork experience.
  • Strong mentoring ability with a focus on safety and ethical standards.
  • Previous experience in unconventional reservoir projects.
