Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical design and engineering support for Chevron’s Refining, LNG, and Specialty Operations assets.
  • Develop engineering work packages for brownfield projects, maintenance, and turnarounds.
  • Support day-to-day operations, including design changes, project scopes, and long-term maintenance solutions.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), design reviews, and coordinate multi-discipline inputs.
  • Perform Management of Change (MOC) for mechanical design packages and modifications.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, specification checks, and condition monitoring for mechanical systems.
  • Provide support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and equipment-related incidents.
  • Leverage knowledge of piping design codes, pressure vessel standards, heat exchangers, valves, PSVs, and equipment procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ASTM, NBIC, and Chevron Corporate Engineering Standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a mechanical or static equipment engineer in refineries, LNG, or petrochemical plants.
  • Minimum 3 years of site-based brownfield facility experience.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, pressure vessels, valves, PSVs, heat exchangers, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Proven ability to design, troubleshoot, commission, and support mechanical systems.
  • Expertise in performing engineering calculations, including pipe stress analysis and pressure vessel design.
  • Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, plot plans, and structural drawings.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor team members, and resolve operational challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from an AICTE-recognized university.
  • Experience in complex process facilities and corporate engineering standards.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design codes and standards, including API, ASME, and ASTM.
  • Experience in equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance in industrial facilities.
