About the Role
As an Assistant Director in EY’s Transaction Strategy & Execution (TSE) – Deal Management team, you’ll lead cross-functional global teams to deliver integration and separation projects across the full M&A lifecycle. You’ll advise clients on operational readiness, synergy realization, and business transformation while ensuring high-quality project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
This is a leadership position for professionals with deep expertise in M&A operations, cross-border deal execution, and strategic business integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end execution of post-deal integration and separation engagements.
- Drive initiatives including Day 1 readiness, TSA management, synergy assessments, and 100-day planning.
- Manage cross-functional teams across global engagements and oversee all project phases — from governance to risk management.
- Conduct industry and deal analyses to identify operational opportunities, cost synergies, and growth levers.
- Collaborate with EY’s onshore and global teams to develop methodologies, playbooks, and tools.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to junior professionals within the TSE team.
- Build and sustain client relationships through business development, proposals, and thought leadership.
- Ensure exceptional quality of deliverables and maintain strong client satisfaction scores.
- Drive digital enablement through analytics tools like PowerBI, Smartsheets, and Python for M&A performance tracking.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Strong understanding of the M&A lifecycle, including integration, separation, and carve-out processes.
- Ability to translate operational insights into financial and strategic outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and facilitation skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presence.
- Hands-on expertise with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word; familiarity with PowerBI, Python, Power Query, or automation tools is a plus.
- Capability to lead multi-functional project teams across regions and time zones.
Qualifications
To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:
- Postgraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from a top-tier institute.
- 10–12 years of relevant experience in M&A integration, separation, or transaction management.
- Exposure to cross-border M&A operations and stakeholder management.
- Willingness to travel internationally as per business requirements.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Project management certification (PMP or PRINCE2) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in data analytics or digital enablement for deal management.
- Knowledge of tools such as PowerBI, Smartsheets, or Tableau.
