Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Management
- Execute full-cycle monthly payroll processing including salary disbursement, deductions, arrears, bonuses, and full & final settlements.
- Validate and consolidate payroll data from attendance, leave management, and time-tracking systems.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution.
Payroll Systems & Tools
- Manage payroll using platforms like GreytHR, Darwinbox, Keka, Zoho People, ADP, People Strong, or similar tools.
- Drive payroll process automation and optimize system efficiency.
- Ensure data accuracy during payroll system migrations or upgrades.
Compliance & Statutory Filings
- Ensure adherence to India’s statutory payroll regulations: Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), Gratuity, and other labor laws.
- Prepare and file timely statutory returns (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Support audits by providing required documentation and compliance reports.
Employee Support & Query Resolution
- Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll-related queries and grievances.
- Educate employees on salary structure, tax declarations, reimbursements, and statutory benefits.
- Resolve discrepancies related to payroll payments and deductions effectively.
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate detailed payroll MIS reports, variance analysis, and reconciliation statements.
- Collaborate with Finance teams for payroll accounting and journal entries.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in India payroll processing and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with multiple payroll platforms (e.g., GreytHR, Darwinbox, ADP, Keka, Zoho People).
- Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas) for payroll reconciliation and reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and process-driven mindset.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Graduate in Commerce, HR, or related field; MBA or PG diploma preferred.
- Payroll certification is an added advantage.
