Key Responsibilities
As an ETL Analyst, you will:
- Perform ETL testing (functional, regression, integration, system testing).
- Design and execute test cases based on data transformation rules and mappings.
- Validate source-to-target data using SQL queries.
- Report issues like data mismatches, transformation errors, and performance gaps.
- Set up and maintain test environments and test datasets.
- Develop automation scripts using tools like Selenium or Python.
- Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and QA teams.
- Ensure all ETL testing complies with data governance and security standards.
- Conduct performance testing on ETL pipelines to optimize throughput.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with ETL testing, data migration, and data transformation validation.
- Excellent command of SQL and working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, or Apache Nifi.
- Familiar with automation tools like Selenium, Python, or custom-built frameworks.
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts, star/snowflake schemas, and data modeling.
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM).
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git (added advantage).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in ETL/Data Testing.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
