Summary

QatarEnergy LNG is hiring an experienced Electrical Foreman (OESS) to lead a team of skilled technicians in executing electrical maintenance and commissioning activities on offshore facilities. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operations of electrical systems while supporting project readiness, start-up, and lifecycle maintenance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in oil and gas electrical maintenance, offshore operations, and high-voltage systems, with proven supervisory experience in managing teams on complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a crew of technicians to perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities safely and efficiently.
  • Support Project Management Teams (PMT) during pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and start-up of offshore electrical systems.
  • Ensure work packs, permits, and safety requirements are complete before starting any maintenance or commissioning tasks.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems independently at offshore facilities, coordinating with supervisors.
  • Maintain tools, spares, and calibration records for all electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment failures using P&IDs, technical drawings, BOM indexes, and equipment datasheets.
  • Conduct hazard identification, toolbox talks, joint safety analyses (JSAs), and last-minute risk assessments (LMRAs) for all work activities.
  • Coordinate with contract staff and ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are followed.
  • Participate in Emergency Response, Fire & Rescue duties as assigned.
  • Support OES spare parts, CMMS teams, and project maintenance readiness deliverables.

Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical maintenance and offshore operations in oil & gas facilities.
  • Proficient in electrical isolation, de-isolation, earthing, and switching operations (415V – 33kV).
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of safety practices, permits, and risk management in offshore environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Secondary School Education (12 years) followed by a vocational training program (TAFE or equivalent).
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in oil & gas maintenance, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Authorised Electrical Person (AEP) certification required for switching operations.
  • Proven track record in safety-first offshore electrical maintenance.
