Key Responsibilities
- Achieve assigned collection targets for the Chennai region, ensuring cost-effective recovery processes.
- Monitor and meet Cost of Collection (COC) and Performance Indicator (PI) targets within prescribed limits.
- Ensure strict compliance with legal guidelines and company policies across all collection activities.
- Oversee collection agencies and field executives to prevent fraudulent activities and minimize financial loss.
- Control portfolio health by managing bucket flows and reducing write-offs within risk pricing limits.
- Handle customer escalations effectively, ensuring timely resolution of collection-related issues.
- Provide feedback on credit policies based on market trends and collection performance.
- Approve waivers and settlements as per the delegation matrix.
- Document and review action taken on accounts in soft bucket stages.
- Ensure adequate field presence (“Feet on Street”) by managing area-wise collection teams.
- Support legal and police-related recovery actions when necessary.
- Manage audit queries, implementing corrective and preventive measures promptly.
- Set productivity benchmarks and conduct daily and monthly reviews of Area Managers and collection officers.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate collection officers and area managers to build a high-performing team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of proven experience in equipment finance collections or related financial services.
- Strong people management and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to drive results.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- High bias for action with the ability to lead from the front in a high-performance environment.
- Strong analytical abilities to monitor portfolio performance and detect risks.
- Motivated self-starter with perseverance and clarity of thought.
- Working knowledge of computers and relevant software tools.
