Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement custom SIEM rules, correlation logic, and detection use cases to identify security threats effectively
- Continuously tune and optimize SIEM content to minimize false positives and improve threat detection accuracy
- Build complex correlation rules, dashboards, and alerts customized to organizational security requirements
- Monitor emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques to keep SIEM aligned with the latest intelligence
- Analyze network traffic, logs, and security events using industry-standard tools and protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
- Create and maintain security use cases mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and Cyber Kill Chain phases
- Manage and maintain SIEM appliances ensuring high performance and operational efficiency
- Lead internal and external audits related to SIEM content management and cybersecurity compliance
- Prepare detailed runbooks and contribute to the creation of SOAR playbooks for automated incident response
- Collaborate with L3 security teams for proactive and reactive threat mitigation
- Identify infrastructure risks and develop mitigation strategies to enhance overall security posture
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in SIEM administration, cybersecurity operations, or threat detection
- Strong understanding of security concepts: cyber attacks, threat vectors, incident and risk management
- Proficient with SIEM platforms and tools, including rule creation, tuning, and log source integration
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and security logging standards
- Experience in creating custom parsers for unsupported log sources is a plus
- Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain for threat modeling
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
