Key Responsibilities
As a Deputy Manager – Valuations, you will:
- Lead and review valuation models for companies across diverse industries
- Analyze financial statements and apply valuation methods (DCF, market multiples, etc.)
- Support business cases for mergers, acquisitions, demergers, and restructurings
- Perform purchase price allocations and impairment testing under IFRS standards
- Prepare and review detailed reports for regulatory, tax, and management planning
- Supervise junior analysts and provide ongoing mentorship
- Interact directly with clients and internal stakeholders
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and ensure quality deliverables
Required Skills
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities (Excel proficiency a must)
- Deep understanding of valuation principles, accounting, and M&A concepts
- Proficiency with valuation databases: CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Factiva, Thomson
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and quantitative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Leadership qualities and ability to mentor team members
- Client-focused mindset and commercial awareness
Qualifications
- Professional certification: CA, CPA, CFA, or MBA (Finance)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business valuations
- Background in Big 4 firms, investment banking, or valuation advisory preferred
- Experience with financial reporting valuations, regulatory compliance, and M&A support
