Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize robust data workflows on the Databricks platform to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into data lakes
- Build scalable data processing pipelines using Spark (PySpark or Spark SQL), adhering to best practices and coding standards
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to translate data requirements into effective technical solutions
- Develop and maintain data models and schemas supporting analytics and business intelligence needs
- Implement data quality, integrity, and security checks throughout data pipelines
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of data workflows, addressing bottlenecks proactively
- Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in Databricks, cloud computing, and data engineering
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline
- 3-9 years of hands-on experience in data engineering with strong expertise in Databricks and Spark
- Proficient in Python and SQL programming for data processing and transformation
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts
- Familiarity with Delta Lake technology for data lakehouse architectures
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and experience in CI/CD practices for data workflows is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
