Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre-silicon functional and performance verification of the Load Store Unit (LSU) for IBM POWER processor cores.
- Architect and enhance the verification environment for LSU, including Load/Store pipelines, D-Cache, address translation, and out-of-order execution.
- Develop comprehensive verification test plans for functional and performance validation, including coverage estimation.
- Support core/system-level simulation environments and post-silicon lab bring-up and validation.
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers, representing them in global forums.
- Document verification environments and results for continuous improvement.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and milestones effectively to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of functional verification experience in processor core architectures, with deep focus on Load Store Unit (LSU) verification.
- Strong knowledge of computer architecture, CPU core design, D-Cache, address translation, memory consistency, and store ordering.
- Expertise in out-of-order, superscalar, multi-threaded CPU core architecture and instruction set architecture (ISA).
- Experience with high-frequency instruction pipelines and at least one generation of processor silicon bring-up.
- Familiarity with x86, ARM, or RISC-V processor designs.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Exposure to system-level verification methodologies for holistic coverage.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of instruction dispatch, arithmetic units, and test generation tools.
- Ability to translate ISA specifications into verification test plans.
- Understanding of verification coverage metrics and principles.
- Familiarity with Agile development, DevOps tools, and methodologies.
