Key Responsibilities

  • Execute cost management activities for capital projects and project portfolios in upstream and downstream operations.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) for budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
  • Assist in project controls planning, cost estimation, and scheduling in line with Chevron’s Cost Engineering Handbook and Capital Projects Management System (CPMS).
  • Prepare and maintain project funding documentation and business planning materials.
  • Configure, administer, and maintain cost control systems with accurate interfaces to accounting and procurement.
  • Monitor project progress, earned value, and deviations, providing timely performance analysis.
  • Generate monthly project cost and schedule status reports.
  • Implement and manage Cost Management of Change (CMOC) processes and control project changes within approved budgets.
  • Support cost and schedule assurance processes, risk management, and contingency planning.
  • Conduct project lookbacks to ensure continuous improvement in cost engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from an AICTE-recognized university.
  • 5–10 years of cross-functional experience in refineries, LNG facilities, or complex process plants.
  • Hands-on experience in cost estimation, scheduling, budgeting, progress tracking, and forecasting for capital projects.
  • Understanding of capital project execution and project management systems.
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering, asset integrity, and refinery/LNG process technologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in cost engineering.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills to effectively interface with stakeholders and support project decision-making.
