Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate contractor staff in the container yard to ensure safe, efficient container handling operations.
- Manage the loading, unloading, and movement of containers throughout the yard during assigned shifts.
- Oversee utilization and maintenance of container handling equipment such as RTGs, forklifts, and cranes.
- Enforce terminal safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor daily operational processes and report shift performance to management.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational challenges to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
- Facilitate communication between yard personnel, crane operators, and logistics teams for seamless container movements.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in terminal operations, preferably within container handling or maritime logistics.
- Solid understanding of container terminal equipment operation and yard management procedures.
- Knowledgeable in terminal safety regulations and best practices for workplace safety.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to manage contractor teams effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to operate efficiently in a fast-paced port environment.
Educational Qualifications
- Diploma in Logistics, Transport, Maritime Studies, or related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent considered with relevant hands-on experience.
- Additional certifications in terminal operations or safety compliance are advantageous.
