Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts from SIEM and other security solutions, both on-premises and SaaS.
- Perform triage of potential security incidents based on severity criteria.
- Analyze indicators of compromise (IOCs) to determine scope and impact.
- Escalate confirmed incidents to SOC L2 analysts with detailed information.
- Document findings, actions taken, and evidence during the triage process.
- Maintain comprehensive logs of incident activities.
- Follow established incident response playbooks and SOPs.
- Execute predefined use cases and scripts to gather additional alert data.
- Monitor health and performance of security tools, report anomalies.
- Participate in ongoing training to improve cybersecurity skillset.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Strong understanding of networking and security concepts.
- Familiarity with cyber threats, attack vectors, and preventive techniques.
- Proficiency in security monitoring tools and SIEM platforms, especially SPLUNK.
- Analytical mindset for assessing security alerts and incidents.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to follow security protocols and predefined procedures.
Certifications (At least One Required):
- Security+
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA)
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline.
