Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP is seeking an experienced MS SQL Consultant to join our Technology & Transformation (T&T) practice at Coimbatore CEC. This role is ideal for IT professionals with strong expertise in MS SQL Server administration, Windows Server management, high availability (HA) solutions, disaster recovery (DR), and performance optimization. Responsibilities

• MS SQL Database Administration:
  • Install, configure, and manage SQL Server instances (2012–2019).
  • Monitor and optimize database performance (query tuning, indexing, and resource allocation).
  • Implement high-availability solutions: Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication.
  • Manage security, user roles, permissions, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform backups, recovery strategies, and database migrations or upgrades.
  • Automate database administration tasks using PowerShell.
• Windows Server Administration:
  • Manage Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019) supporting SQL Server databases.
  • Perform OS patching, updates, and security hardening.
  • Configure Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other services.
  • Monitor server performance and optimize system resources.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery:
  • Design, implement, and maintain HA and DR solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure fault-tolerant infrastructure.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
  • Work with development teams to deploy and manage stored procedures, scripts, and SQL jobs.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, troubleshooting, and DR procedures.
  • Mentor junior team members and guide technical best practices.
• Problem Solving & Support:
  • Troubleshoot database and Windows-related issues promptly.
  • Provide proactive solutions to optimize performance and maintain uptime.

Required Skills

• Technical Expertise: MS SQL Server (2012–2019), Windows Server administration, high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), backup and recovery, performance tuning.
• Automation & Scripting: PowerShell or equivalent scripting tools.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to monitor, analyze, and optimize large datasets and server performance.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and team mentoring abilities.
• Project & Change Management: Implement change requirements, document solutions, and support UAT and production deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of MS SQL Server DBA experience with strong Windows Server knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server installations, configurations, and upgrades.
• Expertise in HA solutions, including Always On, clustering, replication, and log shipping.
• Solid understanding of database security, encryption, and auditing.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• B.Tech, MCA, or equivalent IT/Computer Science degree.
