Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for complex enterprise systems.
- Work on API development and integration, including ISO8583 and OSI Level 4 protocols.
- Participate in deployment, configuration, and optimization of vendor products and mainframe systems.
- Convert legacy COBOL code to Golang or modern programming frameworks as part of modernization initiatives.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance application performance in polyglot tech environments.
Data & Database Management
- Work with SQL databases to support application functionality and data-driven decision-making.
- Implement data validation, transformation, and integration solutions across multiple platforms.
Collaboration & Client Delivery
- Collaborate with POD leads, cross-functional teams, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and effective challenge to design decisions to ensure optimal architecture and code quality.
- Assist in documenting technical specifications and deployment processes.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Explore and apply new programming tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve efficiency.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building within the team.
Required Skills and Competencies
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Java and Golang development.
- Strong experience with API development and integration.
- Familiarity with ISO8583, OSI Level 4 protocols, and mainframe systems (COBOL).
- Proficiency with SQL databases and data manipulation.
- Comfortable working in polyglot technology environments and adopting new tools quickly.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively in hybrid teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-native deployment frameworks, IDEs with code assistants, and automated development pipelines.
- Exposure to reverse engineering, vendor XML configuration, and application modernization.
- Experience in a consulting or client-facing environment is a plus.
