Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant – Cognos and BI, you will:
- Collect, transform, and analyze complex datasets to uncover patterns and insights.
- Write advanced SQL queries and Python scripts for data transformation.
- Design and manage large datasets and databases for BI solutions.
- Develop dashboards and advanced visualizations using Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, and Looker Studio.
- Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure insights are effectively communicated.
- Solve complex data discrepancies and ensure high data quality.
- Participate in data transformation projects and automation initiatives.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, structured manner.
Skills & Competencies
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong data handling and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing.
- Hands-on experience with Cognos and other BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio).
- Ability to design and build interactive dashboards and reports.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking mindset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and data transformation projects (preferred).
- Good domain knowledge and ability to apply insights to business problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- 2–6 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Consulting.
- Hands-on expertise in Cognos and visualization tools.
- Experience in Python, SQL, and database management.
- Prior consulting or data transformation project experience preferred.
