Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Operations & Maintenance
- Supervise maintenance and repair of rig mechanical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical problems quickly and effectively.
- Preventative Maintenance Programs (PMS)
- Implement and oversee preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
- Inventory & Financial Management
- Oversee spare parts ordering and inventory control.
- Support cost-effective use of resources for rig operations.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Report directly to the Preventive Maintenance Manager.
- Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and company policies.
- Promote safety-first culture within the maintenance team.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the rig’s mechanical crew.
- Foster skill development and high team performance.
Skills & Experience Required
- 10+ years of experience in onshore and offshore drilling operations.
- Minimum 3 years as a Chief Mechanic on drilling rigs.
- Strong expertise with rig mechanical equipment and systems.
- Proven ability to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Leadership skills with experience managing maintenance teams.
- In-depth knowledge of oil and gas industry safety standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- Additional rig maintenance and HSE training is an advantage.
