Key Responsibilities
As a Chief Electrician at Arabian Drilling Company, you will be responsible for:
Electrical Systems & Maintenance
- Manage installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on drilling rigs.
- Administer Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) to ensure timely servicing of equipment.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with codes, standards, and safety protocols.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and international electrical standards.
- Respond effectively to electrical emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
Technical Expertise & Project Management
- Lead electrical projects, from planning to commissioning.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable sizing standards.
- Perform power calculations and ensure proper equipment configuration.
Leadership & Team Supervision
- Supervise and mentor a team of electrical technicians.
- Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Use computerized maintenance systems (SAP) for tracking and reporting.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in onshore/offshore drilling operations, with at least 3 years as Chief Electrician.
- Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of electrical principles in hazardous environments.
- Experience with PLC systems, Field Devices (FD), and communication networks.
- Proficiency in computer hardware/software and drilling electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP (a plus) and preventive maintenance programs.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute electrical projects efficiently.
- Effective communicator with a safety-first mindset.
