About the Role
As an AWS Data Engineer, you will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and cloud architects to deliver robust and scalable data engineering solutions. Your work will directly support enterprise analytics, data science, and reporting strategies for clients in a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance data pipelines using AWS services.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes using AWS Glue, EMR, Lambda.
- Develop and maintain data lakes with Amazon S3 and Delta Lake.
- Optimize data architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Create and manage analytics environments using Amazon Athena and Redshift.
- Use AWS Step Functions for orchestrating serverless workflows.
- Build database solutions with Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB.
- Write efficient code using Python, PySpark, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with best practices.
- Support data teams with structured, clean, and ready-to-use datasets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and infrastructure issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of total experience, with 60%+ in AWS Data Engineering roles.
- Deep expertise in AWS Data Services: Glue, EMR, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, S3.
- Strong understanding of data lake technologies and Delta Lake.
- Proven experience with database platforms like Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB.
- Programming proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- Experience with workflow orchestration using AWS Step Functions.
- Knowledge of big data ecosystems: Hadoop, Spark.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control (Git).
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certification in Data Analytics or Solutions Architect (preferred).
- Experience working in Agile teams or product-based environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
