Key Responsibilities
As an Automation Engineer – Oil & Gas at Siemens Energy, you will:
- Implement Automation Systems: Design, develop, and integrate automated systems for offshore platforms, ensuring seamless operation and optimized performance.
- HMI and Node Programming: Utilize PCS7, WinCC, Step 7, and TIA Portal to create advanced automation and HMI programming solutions.
- Upgrade and Migration: Oversee DCS upgrades and migrations for offshore projects, ensuring minimal disruption and efficient transitions.
- Collaboration with Vendors & Factories: Coordinate with factories, system houses, and vendors for automation cabinet manufacturing and staging.
- Travel: Visit Siemens Energy customer sites domestically and internationally for installation, troubleshooting, and support (approximately 2-3 months per year).
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in Automation Engineering, with a focus on Oil & Gas or Marine automation projects.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise with PCS7, WinCC, Step 7, and TIA Portal.
- Additional knowledge of C++, C#, and VB Scripting is advantageous.
- Experience with Database Management and Nordic SOGO Library is a plus.
Communication & Teamwork:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
