Summary
Kroll is hiring an Associate Vice President (AVP) – Portfolio Valuation in Mumbai, India to join our Global Business Solutions (GBS) – Valuation Advisory Services team. This role focuses on alternative investment valuation, including illiquid securities for hedge funds, private equity funds, business development corporations, and fund of funds. The AVP will collaborate closely with Kroll’s London and EMEA offices, lead valuation engagements, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. Ideal for professionals with 6-9 years of valuation and financial advisory experience, this position offers global exposure, leadership opportunities, and hands-on involvement in complex financial modeling and corporate finance advisory.

Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Valuation Leadership
- Lead and manage complex valuation engagements across illiquid investments, industries, and geographies.
- Act as primary contact for London and European stakeholders, coordinating resources and engagement deliverables.
- Build long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and providing guidance on valuation strategies.
Financial Modeling & Analysis
- Oversee the valuation analysis process, including selection of appropriate valuation methodology.
- Develop, review, and validate financial models: DCF, comparable company, stock option, and intangible asset models.
- Provide industry insights and strategic recommendations to clients.
Team Management & Mentorship
- Mentor and guide analysts and consultants, providing technical training and career development support.
- Oversee project staffing, resource allocation, and work plan execution.
- Support recruitment and onboarding, including screening CVs, interviewing candidates, and coordinating with HR.
Practice Development & Business Growth
- Contribute to business development initiatives and practice expansion.
- Share insights and updates with local and global leadership teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in valuation methodologies and client service standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- 6–9 years of experience in valuations and financial advisory, including financial modeling and corporate finance expertise.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, CA, or MBA from an accredited university.
- CFA and/or CPA designation preferred.
- Proven ability to manage complex client engagements and lead global teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication; comfortable presenting to senior management.
- Knowledge of MS Office, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and valuation modeling tools.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
