Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage L1 SOC engineers during shifts, ensuring smooth handovers and workload balancing.
- Perform quality audits, offense analysis, and timely root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents.
- Provide training to SOC analysts on latest attack vectors and log analysis techniques.
- Work with SIEM engineering teams to fine-tune detection use cases, reduce false positives, and improve response accuracy.
- Conduct advanced log analysis, monitoring, and incident triage across endpoint, network, database, and cloud environments.
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly SOC performance reports.
- Support project managers with escalations and critical incident handling.
Skills & Expertise
- Strong knowledge of cyber security principles and domains (Endpoint, Network, Database, Cloud Security).
- Experience with tools such as QRadar, Demisto/XSOAR, Qualys, Cortex, Shodan.
- Proficient in incident response, threat hunting, malware analysis, and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
- Ability to manage high-pressure environments while maintaining team performance and morale.
- Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Tier 1/2 preferred).
- Certifications (preferred):
- IBM QRadar SIEM Certification
- CISSP, CEH, CISM, or equivalent security certifications
- Experience: 6+ years in SOC operations, with hands-on leadership experience.
