Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and enhance SOC platform operations for continuous security monitoring and threat detection
- Conduct detailed security incident investigations, including root cause analysis, data collection, and recovery
- Validate and fine-tune SIEM correlation rules, use cases, and custom detections to reduce false positives
- Create new SIEM use cases and playbooks based on threat intelligence, TTPs, and internal security gaps
- Conduct alert quality reviews and recommend improvements to detection strategies
- Mentor and support L1 SOC analysts, improving detection and response capabilities
- Continuously monitor SIEM and security tools for alerts, anomalies, and policy violations
- Lead incident response efforts, ensuring threat containment and forensic integrity
- Correlate data from diverse sources to create actionable threat intelligence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical security issues
- Document incidents, root causes, and resolution steps; contribute to incident response playbook refinement
- Share cybersecurity knowledge and threat insights across the team
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in SOC operations, incident response, or cybersecurity
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, NIST IR
- Expertise in cloud security concepts, EDR, DLP, and firewall technologies
- Deep understanding of network and security fundamentals (OS, TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, ports)
- Working knowledge of malware analysis and sandboxing environments
- Ability to analyze complex alerts/logs and convert them into actionable response measures
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related fields (Tier 1/2 preferred)
