Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively hunt and detect cyber threats using SIEM, EDR, and telemetry data platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, and CrowdStrike.
  • Conduct advanced threat analysis to identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and understand attacker Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) using frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Develop, tune, and optimize detection use cases, custom analytics, and rules to identify malicious cyber behaviors.
  • Collaborate closely with Security Operations Center (SOC), Threat Intelligence, Incident Response (IR), and Red Team for comprehensive threat detection and mitigation.
  • Analyze cyber threat actor campaigns, exploit techniques, and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
  • Perform root cause analysis of security incidents and suggest preventive actions to enhance cybersecurity posture.
  • Prepare detailed threat hunting reports and executive summaries tailored for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously enhance the threat hunting process through automation, data enrichment, and innovation.
  • Stay updated with the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and trends in threat actor behavior.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with cyber threat hunting tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, and CrowdStrike.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks including MITRE ATT&CK and cyber kill chains.
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex cyber threat data, identifying IOCs and TTPs.
  • Experience creating and fine-tuning detection rules, analytics, and hunting queries within SIEM and EDR platforms.
  • Excellent root cause analysis and incident investigation skills.
  • Ability to write clear, comprehensive reports and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong commitment to ethical cybersecurity practices and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (full-time).
  • Prior experience in cybersecurity, particularly in threat hunting, incident response, or security operations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP, GIAC) are a plus but not mandatory.
