🛠️ Key Responsibilities
As an OpenShift L2 Consultant, you will:
🔧 Platform Support & Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and manage OpenShift clusters in production and non-production.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and resource scalability.
- Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes to cluster components.
🛡️ Incident & Problem Management
- Resolve L2-level incidents and service requests escalated from L1 teams.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.
- Collaborate with L3 and DevOps teams to resolve complex issues.
⚙️ Configuration & Optimization
- Configure network policies, node scaling, ingress/egress rules.
- Automate deployments and service integrations in OpenShift.
- Suggest and implement improvements in platform reliability.
📊 Monitoring & Documentation
- Set up and maintain Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack.
- Monitor cluster and app health, analyze performance metrics.
- Document SOPs and contribute to knowledge-sharing with L1/L3 teams.
🤝 Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and DevSecOps practices.
💡 Required Skills
- Red Hat OpenShift v4.x – hands-on cluster management
- Kubernetes – architecture & troubleshooting
- Docker – container management & orchestration
- Linux/Unix – OS-level scripting and troubleshooting
- CI/CD Tools – Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitOps workflows
- Networking – Load balancing, DNS, firewalls, ingress/egress
- Monitoring Tools – Prometheus, Grafana, EFK/ELK
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
- Red Hat Certifications: EX280, EX288, or CKA
- Knowledge of Istio, Service Mesh, Storage Integration (CSI)
- Scripting: Python, Ansible, Shell
- Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP hosting OpenShift
🎓 Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 3–6 years of professional experience in containerized environments
- Red Hat or Kubernetes certifications (preferred but not mandatory)
