Shell India is hiring an ER/IR Advisor to lead Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) efforts at its Hazira location. This full-time role is ideal for HR professionals with over 8 years of experience in labor compliance, grievance handling, labor law implementation, and contractor workforce governance.
As an Employee Relations and Industrial Relations Advisor at Shell Hazira, you will ensure a legally compliant, proactive, and harmonious workplace while collaborating with internal stakeholders, government bodies, and contractors. πΌ Key Responsibilities
As a Shell ER/IR Advisor, your role will cover three critical HR verticals: Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, and Compliance.
π₯ Employee Relations & Labor Compliance
- Monitor emerging labor law trends and legal updates to ensure internal compliance
- Manage and lead high-risk or high-impact ER/IR cases, including grievances and disciplinary action
- Represent Shell in labor inspections, audits, and compliance-related discussions
- Ensure governance of statutory compliances in accordance with Indian labor laws
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to manage risk mitigation strategies
π€ Industrial Relations & Contractor Management
- Represent Shell in labor matters with government and regulatory authorities
- Evaluate IR risks in contractor tenders and workforce management
- Oversee IR strategies and practices of major contractors to align with Shell policies
- Prevent co-employment risks and ensure fair labor practices among third-party vendors
π¨ Crisis Management, HSSE & Ethics
- Set up local crisis response and governance structures for labor-related issues
- Lead HR investigations, GHL complaints, and resolve employee grievances swiftly
- Monitor employee sentiment and proactively manage early warning signs
- Ensure duty of care for both employees and contract workforce
π§ Skills & Competencies
To succeed in this HR advisory role at Shell India, youβll bring:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Employee & Industrial Relations
- In-depth knowledge of Indian labor legislation, statutory compliance, and HR governance
- Strong case management and problem-solving skills in complex ER/IR scenarios
- Experience working with government labor offices, auditors, and legal advisors
- Ability to gather and interpret workforce data to identify trends and mitigate risks
- Stakeholder management skills to engage with internal leaders, contractors, and authorities
- Exposure to organizational design, workforce planning, and capability diagnostics
π Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Human Resources, Labor Law, or Business Administration
- Certifications in Labor Law Compliance or HR Governance (preferred)
- Proven track record of implementing organizational-level labor relations strategies
- Experience in heavy industries, manufacturing, oil & gas, or similar sectors (preferred)
