π§ Role Responsibilities
As Head of Container Terminal at QatarEnergy, you will be responsible for:
- Leading day-to-day operations at the Laffan Container Terminal (LCT).
- Overseeing the efficient movement, handling, and storage of containers at Ras Laffan Port.
- Managing contractor personnel including:
- TOS Operators
- Ship-to-Shore (STS) & Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) Crane Operators
- Tractor Drivers
- Stevedore teams
- Ensuring port safety protocols are enforced across all terminal operations.
- Reviewing and analyzing operational performance data, KPIs, and reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshooting operational issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless cargo flow and terminal compliance.

- Strong understanding of port logistics, vessel operations, and maritime cargo management.
- Working knowledge of container terminal equipment and terminal operating systems (TOS).
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities in multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in safety compliance, incident handling, and operational troubleshooting.
- Strategic thinking and data analysis skills to support performance reporting and optimization.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.

- A recognized international maritime qualification or a university degree in:
- Maritime Studies
- Logistics & Transport
- Engineering
- Or other relevant disciplines
- 7β10 years of experience in port or container terminal operations.
- Minimum 2β3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
