π§ About the Role
As a Software Engineer β AI/ML, you’ll contribute directly to the evaluation and performance improvement of AI-driven smart home products, particularly the Google Home Assistant. Your work will focus on developing scalable evaluation platforms, improving generative AI outputs, and enabling faster AI model iteration by enhancing quality assurance tools for conversational systems.
This role requires versatility across the full software stack and a deep understanding of how machine learning systems are trained, tested, and deployed in real-world applications.
π§ Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain evaluation infrastructure for AI projects powering Google Home.
- Design and implement AI evaluation platform features, including support for dialog management, contextual understanding, and internationalization (i18n).
- Generate training and evaluation data for AI/ML systems using generative AI models and crowd-sourced methods.
- Work with cross-functional teams to accelerate quality iteration and feedback loops in AI model development.
β Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages (Python, Java, or C/C++).
- Hands-on experience with machine learning systems, data analysis, or AI infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterβs degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of development experience with production-scale systems.
- Experience working with natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI systems.
- Familiarity with using generative models for creating and evaluating training datasets.
