QatarEnergy is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Reservoir Engineer to join its offshore oil field development team. This is a critical role focused on extending the life and profitability of Qatar’s mature offshore assets. As a Reservoir Engineer at QatarEnergy, you’ll lead multi-disciplinary studies, optimize asset performance, and support development planning using advanced simulation tools. 🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Optimize asset performance for QatarEnergy’s offshore oil fields through advanced petroleum engineering strategies.
- Lead reservoir simulation modeling (black-oil and compositional), history matching, and production forecasting.
- Conduct material balance modeling, transient well test analysis, and reservoir surveillance.
- Drive development planning during project phases such as Viability, Concept Select, Pre-FEED, and FEED.
- Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling, production, and facilities teams to deliver integrated field development plans.
- Participate in business planning, WP&B cycles, and corporate-level strategic processes.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior staff and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
🛠️ Core Skills & Technical Competencies
- Proficient in numerical reservoir simulation tools: Eclipse 100/300, Petrel RE
- Strong experience with:
- Material Balance (MBAL)
- Well Test Analysis (Saphir)
- Reservoir Surveillance (OFM)
- PVT Modeling (PVTi, PVTSim)
- Understanding of uncertainty and risk assessment methodologies (MEPO or similar tools).
- Hands-on experience in reserves classification and booking (SPE PRMS or SEC standards).
- Strong communication, technical report writing, and cross-disciplinary coordination skills.
🎯 Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on reservoir engineering experience.
- Offshore mega-project or EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) experience is desirable.
- Experience in fluid sampling, routine/special core analysis, and process design interaction.
- Project Management Certification or experience with technical guideline development is a plus.
- Proven success working in multicultural, integrated asset teams.
🎓 Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from a recognized university.
