π§ Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities supporting new product introductions (NPI) and existing aerospace production.
- Develop and execute project plans to meet milestones and production goals.
- Provide technical support for prototype builds, process development, and manufacturing test equipment.
- Collaborate with global teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless project execution and transfer between manufacturing sites.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to simplify production lines and enhance productivity.
- Support compliance with Aerospace Quality Management System (QMS) standards, including AS9100 and FAI.
- Apply CAM programming expertise for 3-axis and 5-axis machining of aerospace parts.
- Interface across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and suppliers as a key cross-functional team member.
- Utilize knowledge of fixture design and cutting tools for high nickel alloys and superalloys machining.
- Monitor and track performance metrics to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
π― Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience, including NPI and production phases.
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience with superalloys.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs and manage cross-functional projects.
- Experience with aerospace quality systems (AS9100, FAI) and production documentation.
- Ability to analyze metrics and drive continuous manufacturing improvements.
β Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with DMG and Mazak 5-axis CNC machines, Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), and Turn-Mill Centers (TMCs).
- Proficient in CAM programming and control systems like Mazatrol and Sinumerik.
- Understanding of machining economics and cost optimization.
- Experience in aerospace assembly and fabrication processes.
- Exposure to global manufacturing environments and supplier management.
