Key Responsibilities
As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will:
- Lead and mentor multiple software engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality applications.
- Define team goals, best practices, and coding standards aligned with JPMorgan Chase’s technology strategy.
- Manage daily development activities, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with business requirements.
- Collaborate across business units to anticipate dependencies and align delivery timelines.
- Supervise agile processes including sprint planning, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Partner with stakeholders to maintain alignment with compliance standards and service level agreements.
- Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement across your teams.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with proven leadership in managing technical teams.
- Formal training or certification in Java, J2EE, or UI frameworks.
- Strong background in software design, automation, and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience leading technology projects and coaching engineering teams.
- Proficiency in UI/UX development using ReactJS, Angular, or equivalent frameworks.
- Expertise in Web Technologies — JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, REST, SOAP.
- Strong grasp of Agile methodologies, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Working knowledge of cloud-native technologies and financial services IT systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on coding experience and practical cloud-native deployment expertise.
- Familiarity with the Java ecosystem and Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring MVC).
