Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Operations & SOC Management
- Lead end-to-end Security Operations Center (SOC) activities focused on detection, analysis, and response to cybersecurity incidents.
- Manage and optimize SIEM (Splunk) and log management systems to ensure timely threat detection.
- Oversee implementation of threat intelligence, incident management, and security monitoring tools.
- Define and continuously improve SOC playbooks, escalation procedures, and threat response workflows.
- Coordinate with internal and client teams to strengthen cyber resilience and risk posture.
Technical Leadership & Threat Detection
- Provide deep technical expertise on EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, proxies, and advanced malware prevention tools.
- Utilize Splunk analytics and correlation rules to enhance real-time detection capabilities.
- Support incident response by conducting root cause analysis and remediation.
- Implement and monitor email protection, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), and endpoint defenses.
- Ensure adherence to global cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, and OWASP.
Strategic Management & Governance
- Drive cybersecurity transformation initiatives that align with business strategy.
- Manage a team of analysts and engineers—coaching and mentoring to deliver operational excellence.
- Lead risk assessments, compliance audits, and remediation programs.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop cyber defense strategies and roadmap planning.
- Report metrics and insights to leadership using dashboards and visualization tools.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, threat detection, or SOC operations.
- Proven expertise with SIEM tools (Splunk) and log management systems.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, IPSec) and network architecture.
- Experience in incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring tools.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security controls.
- Strong scripting or programming ability (Python, PowerShell, or Shell).
- Familiarity with information security standards (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST, GLBA, FFIEC).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, SANS, or EnCE.
- Experience leading cyber defense teams or managing large-scale SOC environments.
- Background in consulting or enterprise cybersecurity services.
