We are seeking a skilled Rig Mechanic with 2+ years of experience in drilling rig or field operations. The Mechanic will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical systems on the rig, including engines, hydraulics, drawworks, and mud systems. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and assisting the Chief Mechanic with installation, repair, and maintenance tasks, while following strict HSE and operational standards.

About the Role
As a Rig Mechanic, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment on offshore rigs or field sites. You will ensure that all systems operate at peak efficiency while supporting drilling operations. You will also assist the Chief Mechanic in equipment installation and documentation of all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Engine & Auxiliary Systems
- Maintain and repair engines, generators, and auxiliary mechanical equipment.
- Ensure optimal operation of all mechanical systems to support drilling activities.
Air & Hydraulic Systems
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Repair and replace components as needed to ensure system reliability.
Drawworks & Rotary Systems
- Perform maintenance and repairs on drawworks, rotary tables, and related systems.
Mud System & Solid Control
- Support operation and maintenance of mud pumps, solids control equipment, and related systems.
Lifeboat & Ballast Systems (Offshore)
- Assist in the maintenance and testing of lifeboat, ballast, and safety mechanical systems.
General Maintenance Skills
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and routine inspections.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems effectively.
Safety
- Follow all HSE guidelines and mechanical safety protocols.
- Ensure safe operation of mechanical equipment at all times.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Report issues and recommend solutions to the Chief Mechanic or Rig Superintendent.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in offshore rig or field mechanical operations.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles, hydraulic systems, drawworks, and mud systems.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
