Key Responsibilities
As an AI Developer at Barclays, you will:
- Develop AI models & algorithms using Python, R, Java, and C++
- Build and maintain scalable AI infrastructure for banking and financial applications
- Refactor and modernize legacy code for cloud-native environments
- Automate testing and validation including self-healing test scripts
- Implement data transformation and schema conversion for large databases
- Enhance security and reliability of AI platforms
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Scientists, AI Architects, and Engineers

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, Java, or C++
- Experience with distributed computing, UNIX tools, and advanced signal processing
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices
- Hands-on experience in AI model development, testing, and deployment
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong analytical ability
- Familiarity with tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Tableau, Hadoop, MongoDB, Oracle
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3–7+ years in AI/ML development, data engineering, or software engineering
- Exposure to financial technology or large-scale enterprise systems
- Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
