Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Migration:
- Assess current Azure Synapse Analytics workspace including pipelines, notebooks, datasets, and SQL scripts.
- Rebuild or refactor pipelines, notebooks, and data models using Fabric-native services.
- Validate data integrity and performance during migration.
- Document architectural decisions, migration steps, and support materials.
Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer:
- Work with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure functional parity post-migration.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to optimize data workflows and performance.
- Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines.
- Follow best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Azure Synapse Analytics (workspaces, pipelines, SQL pools, Spark notebooks).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, OneLake, and Power BI integration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and ETL/ELT pipeline development.
- Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Lake.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, data integration patterns, and cloud platform migrations.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with DataOps/DevOps in Azure environments.
- Knowledge of Dynamics Dataverse integration with Fabric.
- Microsoft certifications in Azure or Fabric.
- Prior involvement in medium to large-scale cloud platform migrations.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant Azure Synapse and cloud platform experience.
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
