Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services and microservices using Java (Spring Boot) or Node.js (Express.js/NestJS).
- Build RESTful APIs and Web Services for seamless application integrations.
- Implement database schemas and efficient queries for SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
- Apply caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached) to improve system performance.
- Utilize messaging queues like Kafka and RabbitMQ for event-driven architectures.
- Ensure secure coding practices using OAuth, JWT, CORS, and prevent vulnerabilities such as XSS and SQL injection.
- Write unit and integration tests using Jest, Mocha, Chai, JUnit, Mockito, or TestNG.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application performance with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, or Datadog.
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams using Jira, Confluence, and Trello.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+, TypeScript) and/or Java (version 8+).
- Expertise in backend frameworks: Node.js (Express.js/NestJS), Java Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
- Strong grasp of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and distributed systems.
- Skilled in working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experienced in caching solutions (Redis, Memcached) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Solid understanding of security best practices: OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools: ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk.
Good to Have
- Experience with GraphQL and Serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Active participation in open-source projects or developer communities.
