Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux-based servers, including configuration, user management, and resource optimization.
• Manage server security protocols: firewalls, access controls, intrusion detection systems, and data backup/recovery.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, system updates, and patch management to ensure servers are current and secure.
• Troubleshoot system crashes and failures; perform re-installations and recovery procedures as needed.
• Conduct periodic health checks, analyze system performance, and implement corrective measures.
• Implement and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for infrastructure maintenance.
• Manage usernames, roles, and passwords across servers, applications, and devices.
• Install, upgrade, and configure software, hardware, and virtual servers.
• Monitor and maintain server scaling, high availability, and disaster recovery configurations.
• Manage cloud infrastructure components and backup for applications and databases.
• Use automation tools like SCCM/MECM for software deployment and system management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless IT service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Server Administrator or similar IT infrastructure role with strong exposure to Windows and Linux servers.
• Solid understanding of server hardening, firewall management, load balancing, and system security.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of automation and system management tools like SCCM or MECM.
• Skilled in backup and recovery procedures and managing system outages.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues and implement solutions efficiently.
• Strong documentation and SOP creation skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Engineering graduate or graduate in any discipline (full-time).

Work Environment & Location

• Based primarily in the Kolkata office, with flexibility for occasional remote work.
• Occasional travel to client sites or other Deloitte locations may be required.
