Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect comprehensive Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) solutions covering compute, storage, networking (SDN), and security virtualization.
  • Lead development of scalable, automated infrastructure architectures supporting hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Evaluate, integrate, and manage SDDC technologies such as VMware NSX, VMware vSAN, Cisco ACI, Nutanix, and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, network, security, and applications to ensure SDDC strategies align with business objectives.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, standards, and best practices for deploying and managing SDDC environments.
  • Drive automation and orchestration initiatives leveraging tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
  • Assess current data center setups and recommend transformation plans toward software-defined infrastructure.
  • Oversee pilot projects, proofs-of-concept, and full-scale SDDC implementations ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Document technical architectures, operational workflows, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineering and operations teams.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and software-defined infrastructure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years experience designing data center infrastructure focusing on software-defined technologies.
  • Strong expertise in virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM).
  • In-depth knowledge of software-defined networking (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI) and storage (e.g., VMware vSAN, Nutanix).
  • Hands-on experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration platforms, especially Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to size and price on-premises private cloud infrastructures (Compute, Storage, Network & Security).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCAP, Cisco CCNP Data Center, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies.
  • Understanding of network security models including micro-segmentation and zero-trust.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and DevOps tools.
  • Background in Agile methodologies and cloud-native infrastructure design.
