🎯 Key Responsibilities
As a Principal Reservoir Engineer at QatarEnergy, you will:
- Lead integrated reservoir studies to support optimal field development strategies.
- Conduct numerical reservoir simulation modeling (black-oil & compositional) for mature and developing assets.
- Perform reservoir/well performance analysis, history matching, and prediction modeling.
- Analyze transient well test and material balance data.
- Guide the creation of infill and workover well programs based on simulation outcomes.
- Evaluate reserves and resources using SPE PRMS or SEC standards.
- Support field surveillance programs, monitor performance, and identify optimization opportunities.
- Mentor and coach junior reservoir engineers and technical team members.
- Ensure quality and timely delivery of third-party reservoir studies.
- Identify and manage key reservoir risks and uncertainties with mitigation strategies.
🛠️ Required Skills & Experience
Ideal candidates should demonstrate:
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in reservoir engineering in the oil and gas industry.
- Proven expertise in reservoir surveillance, performance optimization, and simulation of large oil fields.
- Extensive knowledge of carbonate reservoirs and mature fields under waterflood.
- Proficiency in simulation tools like Eclipse (100/300), Petrel RE, and material balance modeling using MBAL.
- Experience with fluid property modeling tools such as PVTi and PVTSim.
- Strong analytical, team collaboration, and communication skills.
- Track record of mentoring junior engineers and working in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
🎓 Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related engineering discipline (Required).
- Master’s Degree is desirable, especially with a focus on reservoir or petroleum engineering.
