Shell India is seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Manager – Fresh Food & Beverages to lead and grow its Non-Fuel Retail Offerings under the Deli2Go and Shell Café brands. Based in Bangalore, this full-time position plays a critical role in shaping the customer experience across over 300 Shell Mobility sites in India.

As a Category Manager at Shell Bangalore, you’ll be responsible for category performance, product development, pricing strategy, supplier management, and on-site execution. 📌 Key Responsibilities

As Shell India’s Category Manager for Fresh Food & Beverages, your core responsibilities will include:

🍽️ Category Ownership

• Lead the end-to-end Category Management for Fresh Food, Coffee, and Beverages at Shell India
• Drive P&L performance of Deli2Go and Shell Café brands
• Design and manage product portfolios for both Company-Owned (CO) and Dealer-Owned (DO) retail channels
• Develop and implement pricing, promotion, and marketing strategies

🤝 Supplier & Partner Management

• Manage key supplier contracts and third-party food partnerships
• Oversee compliance, safety, and operational standards for food and beverage offerings
• Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, and FMC teams to maintain category assets and ensure readiness at retail sites

📈 Commercial Planning & Execution

• Work closely with Sales to meet top-line and bottom-line targets
• Manage SP&A budgets and identify new income streams from suppliers
• Monitor customer feedback and address complaints via Shell’s Customer Service Centre (CSC)
• Champion the Integrated Retail Offer approach to enhance customer value proposition

🧠 Learning & Development

• Partner with L&D to implement and scale the Barista Club
• Ensure retail staff are trained and competent in handling food and beverage offerings

✅ Skills & Competencies

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven experience in FMCG, retail, food & beverage, or hospitality category management
• Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of P&L and marketing
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Solid background in supplier management and contract optimization
• Experience in product innovation and customer-centric retail development
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Training teams

🎓 Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or Hospitality
• 5+ years of experience in category management, food retail, or F&B services
• Familiarity with customer experience enhancement strategies and food safety compliance
• Experience in launching or managing branded food/beverage offers in a multi-site retail setting
