💼 Key Responsibilities
As the Mechanical Section Head, your core responsibilities will include:
🔧 Mechanical & Piping Design Leadership
- Lead and guide the mechanical and piping design team for WTP, STP, and transmission pipeline projects.
- Supervise the development and validation of mechanical components, including plant layouts, pipeline drawings, and equipment specs.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Process, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation) to ensure seamless system integration.
📊 Project Planning & Execution
- Manage engineering deliverables, resource allocation, and project schedules.
- Review and approve design documentation, BOQs, and technical submissions.
- Oversee equipment evaluation, vendor engagement, and procurement support.
🌍 Client, Vendor & Global Coordination
- Interface with clients and consultants to obtain approvals for all engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with international vendors for equipment selection and post-order documentation.
- Support international projects, primarily in Middle East and Africa.
📈 Performance & Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize system design, and reduce engineering turnaround times.
- Conduct and participate in HAZOP workshops and other safety/design audits.
🛠️ Required Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in Mechanical & Piping Engineering
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Process Piping Design
- Equipment Installation & Commissioning
- Hydraulic and Surge Analysis
- Familiarity with international design codes: ASME, BS EN, ISO, QCS, NWC
- Strong leadership and team development abilities
- Proficient in vendor evaluation and technical documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Exposure to Oil & Gas, Water, and Effluent Treatment sectors
🎓 Qualifications
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
- M.Tech (preferred)
- 12–20 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, with 3–5 years in a leadership/managerial role
