Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the stewarding team, including dishwashers and cleaners.
- Implement training programs on hygiene, sanitation, and equipment handling.
- Maintain compliance with local health, safety, and sanitation codes.
- Oversee the operation and upkeep of dishwashing machines and cleaning tools.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and stewarding equipment.
- Prepare staff schedules, duty rosters, and leave plans.
- Manage waste control and recycling initiatives.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all food service areas.
- Collaborate with the culinary and service teams during busy service hours.
- Suggest improvements to streamline stewarding operations.
- Ensure staff follow personal hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards.
- Participate in hotel emergency and safety procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in stewarding or a similar role, preferably in hotels or large food service operations.
- Certification in Food Safety / Sanitation (e.g., ServSafe).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication in English.
- In-depth knowledge of hygiene practices and sanitation codes.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, tools, and best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand long hours and lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic computer skills for inventory and scheduling tasks.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
