Responsibilities
- Lead Controls and Compliance initiatives for Microsoft India’s finance and business segments.
- Serve as the primary compliance contact for business leads and support compliance committee meetings.
- Educate, train, and promote risk management and control requirements across all India South Asia segments.
- Review and improve automated/manual processes and system controls; guide remediation of control gaps.
- Partner with finance, business teams, and SMEs to foster a strong compliance culture.
- Monitor emerging risks, update controls, and respond proactively to internal and external audit findings.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to perform data analytics, simplify processes, and mitigate compliance risks.
- Collaborate closely with Internal Audit, risk management, and outsourced partners to resolve compliance issues.
- Drive compliance improvements in spend management, anti-corruption, financial management, and entity-level controls.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA in Finance, or Cost Accountancy degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership and business partnering skills in controls and compliance.
- Proven expertise in statutory laws, accounting policies, and tax laws relevant to finance compliance.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in complex, cross-functional environments and influence without direct authority.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing outsourced partners and compliance in outsourced models.
- Strategic thinking combined with operational execution and attention to detail.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
