Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer – Train Control at Siemens Mobility, you will:
- Define system requirements and create interface specifications for rail vehicle control.
- Design and implement safety-relevant software components following Siemens and industry standards.
- Develop control functions using functional block diagrams.
- Prepare software test specifications, conduct code reviews, and support verification activities.
- Assist in integration testing and validation of TCMS applications.
- Analyze diagnostic information, perform bug fixing, and optimize train performance.
- Build TCMS concepts for locomotives/trains at the vehicle level.
- Implement upgrades and new applications using the V-model software development approach.
- Conduct training sessions for customers and service colleagues.
- Independently manage subsystem-level development and logic block creation.
- Apply knowledge of braking systems and brake software development (advantageous).
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering.
- 5–8 years of relevant railway domain / rolling stock experience.
- Expertise in locomotive and train control systems, testing, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as TRDP, MVB, WTB, and Ethernet.
- Proven experience in requirement engineering.
- Familiarity with railway safety standards: IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
- Ability to guide peers, work in cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality results.
