Responsibilities
As a Senior UI Software Engineer at Caterpillar, you will:
- Lead UI design, development, and delivery of scalable web applications.
- Build and optimize applications using React, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Apply Agile, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and best coding practices.
- Mentor team members by guiding on design, usability, and technical approaches.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Architects, and UX/UI designers to deliver world-class user experiences.
- Consume RESTful services and integrate APIs.
- Define and implement UI strategies aligned with Caterpillar’s digital architecture.
- Ensure timely delivery with a strong commitment to code quality and performance.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in React.js and Next.js frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and Sass.
- Proven experience in delivering complex UI applications at scale.
- Hands-on experience with REST API integration.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with software design patterns and scalable architecture principles.
